Liverpool urged not to make too many signingsCould have a negative impact on the squad Salah might leave Anfield in the summer WHAT HAPPENED?
John Aldridge, who spent two seasons at Anfield between 1987 and 1989, has urged his ex-club to avoid making too many alterations in their squad once Jurgen Klopp leaves them in the summer as it could have a negative impact on the team once new manager Arne Slot walks in.

In his column for , the ex-Ireland international wrote, "I don’t know what to expect, I really don’t know. Whenever you change manager, it’s always a massive risk for any club. Man City when Pep Guardiola goes, see what happens there. We’ve seen it with Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson left. They dive-bombed and haven’t been back since. We just have to hope that we’ve got the right man to take over and keep it going on.
"I think we were all surprised because he wasn’t even in the running. Whether it’s a good thing or not, we don’t know. It’s always going to be a risk when a manager goes and another one comes in. We’ve seen that ourselves with certain managers in the past too."
He added, "Jurgen came in and did a great job so you want it to continue smoothly. You don’t want him to all of a sudden come in and get rid of four players, then bring four players in. What’s happened in the past month, doesn’t make us a bad team. We’ve got really good players, really good young players. Everything is in place, except we don’t know the management and staff yet.
"They’ve got to try and take it over comfortably. Too many changes, it’s like baking a cake. You put in the wrong ingredients and it goes wrong. It’s got to be done in the right manner, and that’s down to the owners and Michael Edwards, to make sure the change goes smoothly."

Aldridge also discussed the possibility of Mohamed Salah's departure from the club as the talismanic Reds star has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer.
He said, "Obviously there are going to be new players coming in, maybe Mo going out and one or two other players. We don’t know. You don’t want to see too much happening all of a sudden because we have got a really good team, a really good squad.
"We’ve not scored goals for the last month or so and that’s what has cost us. We’ve missed far too many chances. It’s there in black and white, everyone knows. The forwards haven’t been doing well, but they did well prior to that."
